Our day begins at 5:30- (the sun comes up and the girls’ eyes are open!) We eat breakfast, get dressed, prepare backpacks/snacks for school, and attempt to get out the door by 7:10. We are fortunate enough to have only a 2-5 minute walk to school (depends which gate we are going to enter and if it is raining!)
The girls attend “school” during the time we have classes. They LOVE their teachers! Anna Grace & Eliza are already learning several Spanish words because their teachers speak to them only in Spanish!
It helps that they see their cousins everyday at school!
David and I are in class from 7:30 until 12:05, Monday through Friday. Our classes are divided into Grammar, Conversation/Language, & Phonetics. Grammar classes have approximately 10 students, while Conversation & Phonetics have 5. As I mentioned in the last post, our teachers are excellent. Below is my Grammar teacher, Laura.
School has been great, but also very challenging. We have lots of homework, which includes practice, practice, practice and memorization. It’s amazing what I have learned in just 1 1/2 weeks of classes.
What about Caleb? Caleb gets to stay home with our sweet helper, Luisa. She LOVES babies, and takes great care of him. Luisa has been a huge answered prayer for our family. I can confidently leave him in her tender care, knowing he’s being gushed over in Spanish: “Mi lindo” which means “my cutie” or “gordito” which means “little fatty.”
So yes, we've "Got Gordito!"
i'm SO glad luisa has worked out to be a sweet nanny for caleb. what a blessing! he has gotten so chub-a-lub...LOVE it and wish i could snuggle him too. thanks for updating!
ReplyDeleteSounds like y'all have busy days. It's fun to see how the Lord is providing. I look forward to seeing how quickly the girls learn spanish. So fun to think that they will be bilingual for real. None of our adult bilingual attempts, but the real deal. I am praying for y'all and look forward to hearing your spanish and how things are progressing again soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update:)! You all look so good! So glad you have found a wonderful nanny and that the girls really like their school. I pray that you all enjoy your classes!
