We've Begun!

We have officially been in San Jose, Costa Rica for just over 2 weeks!  We are starting to feel settled in our “casa verde” (green house.)  Our classes at the Spanish Language Institute started last week, and we already have lots of homework and studying!  We have been impressed with the teachers and administration of the school, and are thankful for the opportunity to learn in such an encouraging, Christ-centered environment.

This morning we attended worship at a local church (about a 15 minute walk from our house.)  Church will be a great place for us to put our studies into practice.  I (Brooke)already recognized several phrases and words on the worship songs slideshow!

Anna Grace & Eliza have loved sharing a room together.  We decorated it the other day- (glad we brought some wall decals!)  Notice Eliza’s mattress on the floor, within the frame of the bunk bed.  Hard tile floor is not the best for learning to sleep in a “Big Girl” bed, and we aren’t ready for any visits to the Costa Rican ER.

Not only do the girls share a room, but a “bathtub” as well!  Most Tico (Costa Rican) homes do not have bathtubs, so we have made our own.

Looking forward to sharing with you the many things we learn and experience here in San Jose while in language school!
Stay tuned...

  2. Thank you, Brooke! I'm so glad to hear you've had a good start in Costa Rica. My favorite is the girls' bathtub. What wonderful memories they will have!
At the Peninsula early evening I heard Caleb Franks say, "We nebber give up!" when John was telling his kids please to make everyone think what a great family they have:>} I'm of the opinion that boys named Caleb have their own unusual spunk!! Ours surely did!! Love to you,

  4. Buenas Dias, Daniel Family,
I showed Analise your blog and she immediately said, "There's Daddy!" She also recognized that the Rubbermaid container was a bath tub, without reservation! So good to "see" you and hear about your adventures. Look forward to visiting often.
With much love, The Nunziato Family

  6. We think of you many times each day and pray for you often. I absolutely love the bathtub - reminds me of an old western tub where the cowboys get cleaned up - just don't be tempted to try it yourselves, could be a tight fit... Love you guys and praying you'll get some time as a community to meet and pray in the midst of your busy schedule. Love, gary & nan
